Screen layouts, orientation and video walls
Every screen has three physical facts the player needs to know: how its picture is split into zones (the layout), which way the TV hangs (orientation), and whether the box drives one TV or a wall of them (the matrix mode). All three are chosen at pairing time and can be changed later — the TV re-locks and re-splits on its next check-in, within seconds.
What you'll do
Change a screen's layout and orientation from its detail page, and configure a hardware or software video wall in the TV matrix editor.
You'll need: the screens paired, and — for a hardware wall — an HDMI matrix controller between the box and the TVs.
Steps

Open Signage from the drawer and tap a screen's card to open its detail page. The Configuration card shows its current Layout, Orientation, Default playlist, Studio and Matrix mode.

Tap the layout row to open Screen layout and pick one of the five built-in layouts — Fullscreen, Sidebar (main plus a 25% side panel), Footer bar (main plus a scrolling ticker strip), Quad (four equal zones), or L-shape (main plus a right column and bottom strip). Each option shows a mini schematic of the actual zone split, and the confirmation reads "Layout set — TV re-splits on next pull".

Tap the orientation row to open Screen orientation and switch between Landscape and Portrait. The TV re-locks its panel on the next check-in; landscape screens are never flipped or flickered by this.

For a video wall, open Tools and choose TV matrix ("Video-wall setup"). This opens the classic screen list; pick the box you are configuring, then open its TV matrix / video wall sheet.

Answer "How is this Android box driving the screen(s)?" with one of three modes: Single TV ("Default — one box, one screen"), Hardware video wall (one box feeds an HDMI matrix controller, which does the splitting across the TVs), or Software wall (each TV runs its own player and shows only its tile of the shared canvas — no controller hardware needed).

Set the GRID — columns by rows, for example 3 by 1 for a row of three TVs, or 2 by 2 for a quad wall.

For a software wall, also set THIS TV IS TILE — which cell of the grid this particular box crops to. Each box renders the full canvas and clips to its own tile, so a 1-by-3 wall's middle box shows exactly the middle third.

For a hardware wall, optionally use FORCE HDMI OUTPUT (OPTIONAL) to pin the exact Width, Height and refresh rate the matrix controller expects — for example 5760 by 1080 at 60 for a 1-by-3 wall — so the controller is never fed an under-sized signal it would stretch.

Save with the mode-specific button — for example Save (single TV) or the hardware-wall and tile variants. The device detail page then summarises the wall in plain English, such as a hardware wall's grid and output mode, or a software wall's grid and tile position.
What you should see
A single TV shows its layout's zones exactly as the schematic promised. A hardware wall shows one continuous picture split by the controller; a software wall shows each box playing its own tile in perfect place. On boot the player also negotiates the highest refresh rate the box supports, so motion looks smooth even on boxes that ship at 30Hz.
If something goes wrong
- A portrait TV is showing sideways content — set Portrait on the screen's detail page; the panel re-locks on the next check-in.
- Software-wall tiles show the same picture — each box must have its own tile set under THIS TV IS TILE. Two boxes on the same tile will mirror each other.
- A hardware wall looks stretched — the controller is being fed a smaller signal than it wants. Pin the correct Width and Height under FORCE HDMI OUTPUT (OPTIONAL).
- The wall's boxes drift out of sync on video — keep wall boxes on the same wired network or strong Wi-Fi; large cached files download per box, so give new content a minute to land everywhere.
