Face terminals: Anviz / TIMY (cloud)
An Anviz / TIMY terminal is the easiest face terminal in the suite to put into service, and the biggest: it holds up to 150,000 enrolled members, so one device covers even the largest club many times over. Like the ZKTeco, it dials out to Prism over the internet — nothing on the gym's network is configured, no port forwarding, no staff device on site to relay anything. Unlike most terminals, every management action in Prism — status, syncing members, even opening the gate — works from anywhere, because the terminal keeps its own line open to Prism.
Setup is two halves: tell Prism about the terminal (its serial number), and tell the terminal about Prism (four values in one menu). After that, members flow to it automatically.
What you'll do
Add the terminal in Prism by serial number, enter the four connection values on the terminal, confirm it's connected, and load your members onto it.
You'll need: the terminal mounted, powered and connected to the internet (Ethernet or Wi-Fi), its menu unlocked, and an owner or manager account in Prism.
Steps
-
In Prism, open Settings → Devices & access → Terminals and tap Add device.
-
Give it a name — e.g. Main Entrance — and set Type to Anviz / TIMY (cloud).
-
Enter the Serial number. On the terminal it's under Main Menu > System > Device Info (it's also printed on the device). The serial is how the terminal introduces itself to Prism, so it must match exactly.
-
Set Access limited to — Anyone, Men only or Women only. On a gendered door (a men-only pool entrance, say) only members of that gender are ever enrolled on this terminal; everyone else is simply not on it.

Tap Save. A dialog titled Now set up the terminal appears with the four values to type into the terminal — including the server address, which is specific to your gym, so copy it from this dialog rather than from this page:
- Server Req —
Yes - Use domainNm —
No - Server IP — the address shown in the dialog
- Port —
7792

-
On the terminal, open Menu > Comm set > Server, enter those four values exactly, and save. The terminal connects itself over the internet — there is nothing else to press in Prism.
-
Give it a minute, then open the terminal's card menu in Prism and tap Status. You want the green dot and Connected to the gate service, with the terminal's model, firmware, and how many users and faces it currently holds.

Tap Sync now on the card menu. Member sync starts on the gate service and new and changed members load in the background — for a large gym give the first full load a few minutes.
-
Test it: ask a member with a clear profile photo to look at the terminal. The door should open and the check-in should appear in the Attendance tab within seconds.
From then on, it's automatic
Sync now is only for the first load (and for impatience). After that, the terminal is kept current without anyone touching it:
- A new member with a photo is enrolled within moments of being created.
- A changed photo replaces the face on the terminal.
- A renewal extends their dates; an expiry, freeze or refund actively removes their access — an expired member is refused at the glass, not just flagged in the app.
- Gendered doors stay right: only the allowed gender is ever pushed to the terminal.
Open the gate from the app
Two ways, both audited:
- On the terminal's device card, the menu has Open gate — one tap, and the gate opens. Because the terminal is cloud-connected, this works from anywhere, not just on the gym Wi-Fi.
- The Open gate… dialog on the Access control screen covers every terminal brand in one place: pick the door, pick a reason (Member forgot card, New client / tour, Guest, Delivery, Maintenance, Card/reader issue) and confirm. Every manual open lands in the activity feed and the audit log with your name and the reason — see the remote gate-open chapter.
What you should see
Status shows a green Connected to the gate service with a growing Users on terminal count after the first sync; new members appear on the terminal without any action from staff; and every entry lands in the Attendance tab in real time.
If something goes wrong
- Status says "Not connected — check the terminal's power, network and Comm-set server
settings" — exactly that, in that order. The usual culprit is a typo in the four Comm-set
values: Server Req must be
Yes, Use domainNm must beNo, and the address and port must match the dialog. Re-open the values any time by editing the device — or delete and re-add it to see the dialog again. - Connected, but no members on it — run Sync now and give a big roster a few minutes; watch Users on terminal climb in the Status sheet.
- A member isn't recognised — their profile photo has no clear, front-facing face. Update the photo; the terminal receives the new face automatically.
- An expired member still gets in — check the terminal was connected when they expired (Status). Changes made while a terminal is offline are applied as soon as it reconnects.
- The serial was mistyped — Prism is waiting for a terminal that will never call. Edit the device and correct the serial to match Main Menu > System > Device Info exactly.
