Studios and studio rentals
Studios are your rooms — the spin room, the yoga studio, the boxing area. Once a studio exists you can point classes at it, let members book it, and hire it out to external instructors as a revenue line of its own.
What you'll do
Create a studio record, manage its bookings, and run an external rental from booking to payment.
You'll need: the studios permission. Rentals use the same permission.
Steps
-
Open the main menu and tap Studios, then add a new studio.
-
Fill in the basics: Studio name, Capacity, Zone / area and Floor #. Tap the photo area (Tap to add a hero photo) to give it a cover image.
-
Set an Hourly rate if the room can be hired out — it pre-fills the rental form later.
-
Set Opening hours (Opens and Closes) and add Amenities as free-form tags.
-
Toggle the Features that apply: Mirrored walls, Air conditioning, Natural light, Soundproof, Ballet barre and Display / TV.
-
Decide if the studio is Bookable — public studios show on the member booking page; hidden ones keep their existing bookings intact. Add House rules and a Description, then save.
-
Open a studio to see its detail page: About, Amenities, Features and its BOOKINGS list. Add a booking for a member — or as a Walk-in (no member) — with a date, start and end time; cancel one with Cancel booking.
-
For external hire, open the main menu and tap Studio rentals. Under its settings, set each studio's default Hourly rate and Profit share % once, then tap Save rates — they pre-fill every new rental.
-
Tap New rental. Pick the Studio, enter the Renter name and Renter phone (optional), and set the start and end times.
-
Choose the billing model: Hourly (total auto-calculates as rate times hours), Profit % (the gym's share of what the renter collects), or Flat.
-
Tap Book rental. When the renter settles up, open the rental and tap Record payment — pick the PAYMENT METHOD, and for a profit-share deal enter the renter's reported gross revenue so the gym share is computed.
-
If you agreed a different amount at handover (overtime, a discount), use the optional override total and note, then confirm. The rental flips from UNPAID to PAID.
What you should see
A studio list with photo cards, live badges for features, and a Bookable marker; a rentals list where each row shows its billing model, amount and PAID / UNPAID status.
If something goes wrong
- No studios to pick in the rental form — create the studio first under Studios; the form links you there.
- The rental total looks wrong — for hourly deals the total is rate times the exact hours between start and end; adjust the times or use the payment-time override.
- A studio shouldn't be bookable anymore — turn off Bookable in its form. It disappears from the member booking page; existing bookings survive.
- End time refuses to save — the end must be after the start; check the date as well as the clock time.
