Draw camera zones and rules
The AI watches only where you tell it to. A zone is a shape you draw on top of the live camera picture — a tripwire across a turnstile lane, an area around a restricted door, a loitering zone by the till — and each zone is its own independent rule. Saving pushes the zones straight to the camera box, so detection starts immediately.
What you'll do
Draw a zone on the live view, give it a kind and (for tripwires) a direction, and save it to the box.
You'll need: the camera box online with a camera registered, and a staff account with the camera-configuration permission.
Steps

Open Settings → Devices & access → Cameras & zones, then open the camera's Detection zones.

Tap Add zone, then tap on the live picture to place the corners of your shape — at least 3 points. The prompt counts down how many more you need.

Name the zone (Name this zone — for example entry lane 1), and pick its kind: Intrusion, Line crossing, Loitering, Region entry, Region exit, No person, Crowd or Tailgating.

For directional kinds — a tripwire or a region entry/exit — pick which travel direction should alert: Entering (wrong-way), Leaving or Either direction. This is how a normal exit through an exit gate stays silent while someone pushing in the wrong way fires an alert.

Add more zones if you need them — one per turnstile lane is the usual pattern, so each lane is judged on its own.

Tap Save. The zones are pushed to the box and the AI starts watching them right away — there is nothing to restart or deploy.
What you should see
Your zones appear over the live view in their colours, and events start arriving in the Security tab's incident inbox when the rules fire. A tripwire across a gate also feeds the live occupancy count.
If something goes wrong
- You can't save — a zone needs at least 3 corners and a name. The editor tells you which is missing.
- The zone fires on people walking past, not through — tighten the shape to the lane itself and check the direction rule; Either direction on an exit lane will alert on every normal exit.
- Nothing fires at all — confirm the box is online and the camera live view works, then walk the zone yourself and check the incident inbox. If it still stays quiet, support can read back exactly what the AI tracked for your walk, remotely.
- Two lanes trigger each other — draw one zone per lane rather than one wide zone across both; each zone is judged independently.
