Security Telegram group
Each branch can have a second Telegram group just for security, separate from the main group that carries sales, check-ins and the daily summary. Once it is connected, these go only to the security group:
- every camera incident — tailgating, unscanned entry and the rest
- internal staff alerts — reception unattended, customer waiting, staff on the phone
- incident clips and review verdicts
- recorder and camera health warnings
- the monthly loss-prevention summary
Until a branch connects its security group, all of this keeps going to the main group, so nothing is missed in between.
What you'll do
Create the group in Telegram, make a bot for it, and connect it with the same steps as the main group.
You'll need: to be the owner, or have the integrations settings permission. The Telegram app.
Steps
-
In Telegram, create the security group for the branch (e.g. "Twin Towers Security") and add the people who should see incidents.
-
Make a bot: message @BotFather, send /newbot and name it, e.g. "Twin Towers Security". It replies with a token like
123456789:AAE…— copy the whole line. (The main group's bot also works, but a separate one is clearer.) -
In Prism, open Settings → Security Telegram group (right under Telegram notifications). Paste the token and tap Connect to a Telegram group.
-
Telegram opens and lists your groups. Pick the security group and tap Add. The page changes to Connected by itself.
-
If it keeps saying Waiting for Telegram, add the bot by hand: open the group → tap its name → Add members → search for your bot → Add. If the bot is already in the group, remove it and add it again — only a fresh join tells Prism.
-
The bot posts "🛡 Prism security is connected…" in the group. Tap Send test to confirm.
What you should see
A test message in the security group, and from then on every security message for that branch arriving there instead of the main group.
If something goes wrong
- Stuck on "Waiting for Telegram" — add the bot to the group by hand (step 5); you must be allowed to add members to the group.
- "That setup link has already been used" — tap Connect again for a fresh link.
- Finding a chat ID by hand — open the group in Telegram Web (web.telegram.org); the number after
# in the address bar is the chat ID, e.g.
-1001234567890.
